There’s a lot happening at Whole Body Family Karate! We’re welcoming new faces, rolling out our new training teams, adjusting our schedule, and getting ready for our next Test Day.
Here’s what our karate families need to know!
👋 WELCOME TO THE DOJO!
Our karate family keeps growing! Please help us welcome our newest students:
🥋 Emmett Turner🥋 Delilah Yates🥋 River Sanford
We’re excited to have all three of you training with us and can’t wait to watch you learn and grow!
🐉 🦁 🐆 MEET OUR TEAMS!
You may have noticed some new team names around the dojo. Our students are now part of one of three training teams:
🐉 DRAGONSPaisley • Ethan • Emmett • River
🦁 LIONSMikkel • Adrian • Tempe • Joel • Olivia
🐆 JAGUARSBrantlee • Tyler • Delilah • Noah • Jacob • Katie
And we have one update from what we originally shared: students will keep their team name throughout their karate journey.
As students advance, what and how they train will change, but their team stays with them. We hope this builds some team pride, friendships, and maybe even a little friendly competition along the way!
To make it official, Ms. Lucie gave each student a bracelet featuring their team mascot. Wear it proudly!
📅 OUR NEW TRAINING SCHEDULE
Our updated class schedule will begin Monday, September 14, following Test Day.
The new schedule gives us more opportunities to group students by training needs and provide more focused instruction.
One important note: the schedule may continue to evolve.
As we see how the new schedule works in practice and as our dojo continues to grow we may make additional adjustments to better accommodate our students and families. We appreciate everyone’s flexibility as we find the right rhythm!
🥋 TEST DAY HAS MOVED
Please update your calendars!
Saturday, September 12
Beginning at 8:30 AM
We moved Test Day because Mr. Tony will be undergoing hip replacement surgery.
We know our karate families will join us in wishing him a successful surgery and a speedy recovery!
While Mr. Tony is away, Mr. Les will be stepping in to cover classes, with help from Ms. Lucie and Mr. Hudson. Training will continue, and our students will be in very good hands while Mr. Tony focuses on getting back on his feet — literally!
🌟 STUDENT OF THE MONTH — JACOB CROSS!

Congratulations to Jacob Cross, our Student of the Month!
Jacob may be fairly new to our dojo, but he is already showing us what it means to give your best — both on and off the mat.
🥋 He works hard and puts real effort into his training.🥋 He is respectful to his instructors and fellow students. He consistently completes and turns in his My Best List.
What really stands out is that Jacob isn't just checking chores off a list. He regularly completes his responsibilities at home without having to be asked ... showing initiative, responsibility, and self-discipline.
That’s what we love to see: taking the lessons we practice in the dojo and putting them into action at home.
Way to go, Jacob! Keep up the great work! 👊🌟
🥋 BRING A FRIEND — MORE TIME TO WIN!
We’re giving everyone a little more time to Share Karate With a Friend!
Invite a friend to come train with you and introduce them to your teammates, your instructors, and all the fun we have on the mat.
And there’s something in it for you, too! Students who participate will have the opportunity to win a brand-new gi!
We’re extending the challenge through October 31, so there’s plenty of time to think about who you’d like to bring.
👊 Friends make everything more fun — even push-ups!
So grab a buddy, bring them to the dojo, and let’s see who can earn some new karate gear!
❤️ THANK YOU, KARATE FAMILIES!
There’s a lot of growth happening at Whole Body Family Karate — new students, new teams, a new schedule, and new opportunities for our students.
Some things may continue to change as we grow, but our goal remains the same: to give every student a place where they can learn, work hard, build confidence, make friends, and feel like they belong.
Thank you for growing with us!
